There’s an article a few years back in the New York Times, well worth your time to read. It’s a very moving story of a three year old boy with arthritis – yes you read that correctly. It’s enough to tug at the heart-strings of any parent, and it’s also very revealing about the pharmacological “fixes” that are pushed in our modern world.
The article also discusses “leaky gut” as a possible explanation to why this little boy’s medications failed, and why a regimen focused on his digestive health seems to be the cause of a happy ending.
There’s a mention of a study by Dr. Scher which was later published, and can be read here. The culprit “Prevotella copri” is highlighted in a 2015 article in The Atlantic called Joint Pain, From the Gut.
Read the original article: The Boy With a Thorn in His Joints, and feel free to do your own research too. This story resonates with the family at Advanced Chiropractic. And it’s the type of wellness care far beyond “pushing pills”.
