At Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness, Spinal Decompression is a regular everyday routine. Patients walk in and are greeted by Levei at the front desk with a smile and the question of ‘how their day is going’. When taken back to the Spinal Decompression room, patients are able to sit back and watch the most frequently requested channel, HGTV, during their treatment.
Spinal Decompression is a treatment many patients receive due to pain in the lumbar and cervical regions. The pain is caused by many things such as degenerated or damaged discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, facet syndrome, spondylosis, herniated or bulging discs or even failed back surgery. Each patient is assessed by Dr. Tony Aboudib through a comprehensive orthopedic and neurological exam where he will determine the right amount of weight needed to relieve the stress off the spine. The patient is connected to the Spinal Decompression table where it will slowly apply traction on the spine using a vacuum effect which will stimulate the blood supply, drawing oxygen, nutrients and fluids into the disc ultimately inducing a healing response. Experts believe that spinal decompression therapy stimulates the body’s ability to heal itself, delivering hope for long term pain relief.
Many of the patients find this process to be extremely relaxing, some would even say that they get to take their “afternoon nap” during treatment. Spinal Decompression is done over a series of weeks, the treatment length is determined by the patients severity and level of improvement after receiving treatment. Spinal Decompression is typically coupled with our other treatments such as Electric Muscle Stimulation (EMS), Chiropractic Manipulation, Cold Laser Therapy, and Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF).
Patients are treated like family with the assurance that all their needs are going to be taken care of to the best of our abilities. The calm and relaxing environment allows patients to enter into a whole new world, where they don’t have to worry about what is going on outside, and where healing is not a goal, it’s a promise.
